Validity of Minor Passport

Before applying for a passport for a minor in India, the applicants need to know the validity details based on the type of minor passport.

  • The minors whose age is between 15 and 18 years can apply for a passport with a validity of 10 years.

  • The minor’s passport will be valid for 5 years until the applicant attains 18 years of age.

Payment Modes

The minors can pay the applicable fee for passport application via Credit/Debit Cards, Internet Banking [SBI and other associate banks], and SBI Challan. The applicants need to pay separate charges besides the Minor Passport’s application fee.

  • In case the payment is done via credit card, 1.5% and service tax charges will be imposed.
  • In case the payment is made through a debit card, 1.5% and service tax charges will be imposed.
  • In the case of internet banking or SBI Challan, no service tax and charges will be imposed.
