Earn Interest

The credit cardholders can get an interest on the credit balance maintained in their Kisan credit card account. The farmers can get 2% per annum interest subvention on loans up to Rs. 3 lakh. Besides this, the customers can also get an additional interest subvention of about 3% pa on timely repayments.

Credit Limit

The credit limit for the farmers also includes their household expenses, maintenance costs of their farm and farm assets, crop insurance, personal accident insurance, asset insurance, and post-harvest needs. Every year, SBI will revise the credit limit. Usually, an increase of 10% will be done by the SBI.

Loan Amount 

The loan amount sanctioned to the farmer will be considered based on the cultivation cost, expenses incurred post-harvesting, and some other maintenance costs.

Crop Insurance

The bank will provide crop insurance to all SBI Kisan credit cardholders who sowed specific crops in selected locations, as per the National Agricultural Insurance Scheme.

Processing Fee

State Bank of India will waive the processing fees for the loans sanctioned for an amount of about Rs. 3 Lakhs.

Security

  • For multiple rabi/Kharif/double-crop loans, repayment must be done within 31st July.

Annual Renewal

Every Kisan Credit Card account must be renewed every year before the last date. This way, the customers can get the assigned credit limit. For the whole period of 5 years, the farmers must do the renewal. Before the expiry date, the cardholder must give a revival letter or declaration to the SBI. For a loan amount up to Rs. 3 Lakhs, an interest rate of 11.30% [Base Rate +2.00%] will be imposed on the cardholder. For a loan amount of Rs. 3 lakhs to up to Rs. 5 Lakhs, the interest rate will be 12.30% [Base Rate + 3.00%]. For a loan amount ranging between Rs. 5 Lakhs and Rs. 25 lakhs, the interest rate will be 13.30% [Base Rate + 4.00%]. 

If the Indian Government offers a 2% subsidy to the State Bank of India, the farmers who acquired short-term crop loans for an amount of up to Rs. 3 lakhs will be charged a fixed rate of interest of about 7%.
